Amy Goodman, the superstar host of Pacifica’s acclaimed Democracy Now! returns to Sarasota to discuss her new book, Static: Government Liars, Media Cheerleaders, and People Who Fight Back.  In their most recent book, siblings Amy and David Goodman tackle issues that they assert are underplayed and ignored by mainstream media.  The book follows the huge success of Exception to the Rulers, and supports radio interviews and commentary with secondary sources to illuminate news stories that they feel are suppressed by the Bush administration and largely diminished by America’s corporate funded media.  Topics range from the war in Iraq to the devastation following Hurricane Katrina.  We’re thrilled to welcome Amy Goodman back to Sarasota!
